Graham Rahal: "Het begin van hopelijk een lange tijd bij Ganassi"

Graham Rahal werd afgelopen donderdag bevestigd bij Ganassi als coureur voor 2011. De Amerikaan zal naast Dario Franchitti, Scott Dixon en Charlie Kimball de kleuren van Ganassi verdedigen en hoopt dit nog jaren te kunnen doen.

Ganassi is een zeer succesvol team in de IndyCar Series en heeft onder andere met Juan Pablo Montoya, Scott Dixon, Alessandro Zanardi en Dario Franchitti titels gewonnen in zowel de IRL als de ChampCar. "Als je naar de geschiedenis van dit team kijkt, is er geen enkel ander team dat beter is geweest. Dus dit is voor mij de perfecte mogelijkheid om nog een lange tijd door te brengen bij Ganassi", vertelde Rahal, die eerder al voor Newman/Haas in 2008 en 2009 heeft gereden en afgelopen seizoen races reed voor Sarah Fisher, Rahal Letterman en Dreyer & Reinbold.

"Zeker na afgelopen jaar, wat een moeizaam en moeilijk seizoen was, is het een hele opluchting dat ik bij zo'n goed team terecht kon. Keer op keer is Ganassi één van de sterkste teams in de IndyCar Series en om Scott Dixon en Dario Franchitti als teamgenoten te hebben is fantastisch. Dit is een grote stap voorwaarts in mijn carrière."
