Vitor Meira blijft nog een derde seizoen bij AJ Foyt Racing

Vitor Meira zal ook komend seizoen voor het team van AJ Foyt uitkomen in de IndyCar Series. AJ Foyt Racing bevestigde de 33-jarige vandaag voor een derde achtereenvolgend seizoen bij het team.

Meira maakte in 2009 zijn debuut voor het team, maar reed toen al zeven jaar in de IndyCar, overigens zonder overwinning. Dat jaar miste hij enkele races na een harde klapper tijdens de Indy 500, maar vorig jaar werd Meira keurig als twaalfde geklasseerd. Het hoogtepunt van 2010 was een podiumplaats in Sao Paulo, zijn thuisrace.

"Ik ben erg, erg blij dat ik weer kan gaan samenwerken met AJ Foyt en zijn ABC Suppy team", vertelde Meira. "We kunnen nu onze stijgende lijn van 2010 doorzetten en ik ben ervan overtuigd dat we een goed seizoen gaan hebben. We weten op welke gebieden we ons nog kunnen verbeteren en daar zijn we ook al een tijdje mee bezig."
