Tiago Monteiro wil IndyCar-debuut maken in Las Vegas

Tiago Monteiro heeft interesse getoond om deel te nemen aan de seizoensfinale van de IndyCar Series in Las Vegas. De organisatie wil ongeveer vijf 'gastcoureurs' toelaten tot de laatste race van 2011 en deze krijgen een beloning van 5 miljoen dollar als ze de race weten te winnen.

Monteiro, die jaren geleden al ChampCar heeft gereden en tegenwoordig actief is in het WTCC, ziet deelname aan de race wel zitten. "Ik heb nog contacten bij enkele teams die ik nog ken uit mijn ChampCar-periode. Sommige hebben mij gevraagd of ik interesse heb om die race te rijden. Ik heb meteen al 'ja' gezegd en zelfs als er geen beloning aan vasthing, zou ik het doen", aldus Monteiro.
