Simona de Silvestro crasht hard tijdens zesde training Indy

Simona de Silvestro heeft vandaag een zware crash meegemaakt tijdens de voorbereidingen op de Indianapolis 500. De Braziliaanse HVM-coureur ging over de kop en haar bolide vatte zelfs vlam. Volgens de eerste berichten heeft De Silvestro geen zware verwondingen opgelopen.

De Silvestro's auto kende een mechanisch defect in Turn 3, waarna ze tweemaal in aanraking kwam met de muur en ondersteboven op het circuit tot stilstand kwam. Kort daarna vatte de HVM-bolide zelfs vlam. De Silvestro kon op eigen kracht uit haar auto komen en werd naar het ziekenhuis overgebracht voor verdere onderzoeken.

De eerste berichten melden dat ze bij bewustzijn is en enkele kleine breuken heeft opgelopen.
