Scott Dixon ruim aan kop op Carb Day in Indianapolis

Scott Dixon heeft vanavond op Carb Day, de laatste testsessie voorafgaande aan de Indy 500, de snelste tijd gereden. De Ganassi-rijder was meer dan een tiende sneller dan polesitter Alex Tagliani. Dario Franchitti volgde met de derde tijd.

Lange tijd stonden Dixon, winnaar van Indy 500 in 2008, en zijn teamgenoot Franchitti één en twee, maar gestaag kwam Tagliani naar voren. De polesitter voor zondag eindigde uiteindelijk een dikke tiende achter Dixon als tweede. Verder kende Foyt Racing een erg sterke sessie. Vitor Meira reed de vierde tijd, gevolgd door Ryan Hunter-Reay op de zevende plaats. Daar tussenin staan nog Dan Wheldon en Buddy Rice. De Belg Bertrand Baguette eindigde als 23e.
