AJ Foyt Racing verzekert zich van Honda-motoren voor 2012

Het team van AJ Foyt Racing wordt volgend jaar door Honda voorzien van krachtbronnen. De Japanse autofabrikant heeft nu al twee klanten voor de nieuwe V6 turbomotoren die in 2012 hun intrede doen. Chip Ganassi Racing maakt volgend seizoen ook gebruik van Honda-motoren. Chevrolet zal de wagens van Team Penske aandrijven, Lotus heeft nog geen afnemers gevonden voor hun motoren.

Teambaas AJ Foyt over de overeenkomst met Honda: Ik kijk echt uit naar de samenwerking volgend jaar. Ik denk dat zij de beste motoren zullen leveren omdat ze over de beste middelen beschikken. Hun faciliteiten zijn echt fenomenaal. Ik was zeer onder de indruk. Daarnaast geniet ik van de samenwerking met het managementteam van Honda. Ze zijn heel eerlijk en open naar ons toe geweest en dat zie je tegenwoordig niet vaak meer. Als mensen ons juist behandelen zal ik dat niet snel vergeten.
