Helio Castroneves bestraft vanwege inhalen tijdens 'Yellow'

Helio Castroneves is zijn zevende plaats van de race in Motegi kwijtgeraakt. De Braziliaanse coureur ging in de laatste ronde voorbij aan JR Hildebrand, maar volgens de wedstrijdleiding is dit gebeurd tijdens een 'Yellow', een gele vlag-situatie. Castroneves valt nu terug tot de 22e positie.

"Ik ben erg teleurgesteld in het resultaat en de beslissing na de race om mij te bestraffen", verklaarde Castroneves na afloop. "Zoals ik al eerder heb gezegd, de beslissingen die de wedstrijdleiding dit seizoen neemt zijn erg inconsistent en vandaag is daar opnieuw een voorbeeld van."
