Conquest Racing helpt Battistini aan IndyCar-debuut

Dillon Battistini staat volgende maand op de Kentucky Speedway voor het eerst aan de start van een IndyCar-race. De 33-jarige Brit stapt in bij Conquest Racing. Het team test vrijdag met Battistini om hem voor te bereiden op de wedstrijd van 2 oktober.

Battistini won in 2007 het Aziatisch Formule 3-kampioenschap en maakte een jaar later een overweldigende entree in de Indy Lights, door zijn debuutrace meteen te winnen. Ondanks nog drie zeges en het hoogste aantal overwinningen dat jaar ging de titel aan zijn neus voorbij.

Sindsdien is het kwakkelen voor Battistini, maar begin oktober krijgt hij dan eindelijk een kans in de IndyCar. Dit is de mogelijkheid waar ik mijn hele leven voor werk. Ik kan niet wachten op de test en het raceweekend, en ik wil teambaas Eric Bachelart bedanken voor deze kans.
