HVM kiest voor Lotus als motorleverancier vanaf volgend jaar

Het team van HVM heeft als tweede renstal besloten om de nieuwe V6 turbomotor voor 2012 af te nemen bij Lotus. Michael Shank Racing had zich eerder al verbonden aan Lotus. HVM gaf de voorkeur aan de Lotus-krachtbron boven de motoren van Chevrolet en Honda.

HVM-eigenaar Keith Wiggins: Ondanks de verschillende keuzes was het voor ons meteen duidelijk om met Lotus in zee te gaan toen zij aankondigden om motoren te leveren in 2012. Ik heb veel respect, vertrouwen en enthousiasme voor het product dat ze ons gaan leveren.

Miodrag Kotur, motorsportbaas bij Group Lotus: We zijn verguld met het vertrouwen van HVM in dit nieuwe hoofdstuk voor ons in de IndyCar. We zijn erin geslaagd om een zeer lichte motor te produceren en we zijn razend benieuwd naar de eerste tests met het pakket begin januari.
