KV Racing bevestigt EJ Viso, komst Barrichello waarschijnlijk

EJ Viso zal ook komend seizoen racen voor KV Racing in de IndyCar Series, zo bevestigde het team zojuist. De Venezolaan zal daarmee het derde seizoen bij het team ingaan. Tony Kanaan werd eerder al langer vastgelegd en de kans is groot dat Rubens Barrichello later deze week als derde coureur wordt gepresenteerd.

"Ik ben erg blij dat ik mijn verblijf bij KV Racing heb kunnen verlengen", vertelde Viso. "Vorig jaar was een succesvol seizoen, al laat mijn positie in de eindstand (achttiende, red.) dat niet meteen zien. We hebben erg hard gewerkt en laten zien dat we competitief zijn. De vooruitgang die we de afgelopen twee jaar hebben geboekt zal dit jaar tot uiting komen."

Barrichello testte zaterdag en zondag opnieuw voor KV Racing en vertelde: "Het was leuk om dit circuit te leren kennen, al was het niet gemakkelijk om het onder de knie te krijgen. Als alles echter op zijn plek valt en ik komend seizoen voor KV race, was dit in ieder geval een erg waardevolle test. Hopelijk heb ik het team verder op weg geholpen."

Ondanks dat er geen officiële tijden bekend zijn gemaakt van de testsessie in Sears Point, weten enkele media te melden dat Barrichello's tijd (1:17.88) nog geen seconde langzamer was dan die van Will Power, de snelste man op het circuit.
