Power zegeviert voor de derde keer op Barber Motorsports Park

Will Power heeft de IndyCar-wedstrijd op Barber Motorsports Park in de staat Alabama op zijn naam geschreven. De Australiër voelt zich kennelijk thuis op dat circuit, want het is zijn derde opeenvolgende zege aldaar.

Power startte slechts als negende en vocht een verbeten duel uit met Scott Dixon voor de winst. Helio Castroneves legde op gepaste afstand beslag op de laatste podiumplek. Rubens Barrichello finishte zijn tweede IndyCar-wedstrijd op een achtste plaats, met een inhaalmanoeuvre in de slotfase van de race op Marco Andretti. Sebastien Bourdais bezorgde motorleverancier Lotus een mooie opsteker met een negende positie.
