Saavedra voegt zich bij IndyCar-veld voor Sears Point

Sebastian Saavedra staat volgende maand op de grid bij de IndyCar-race op het circuit van Sears Point. De Colombiaan is dit jaar met succes actief in de Indy Lights en nam ook deel aan de Indy 500. Op Sears Point rijdt hij in een auto gerund door Andretti Autosport en AFS Racing.

AFS Racing-teambaas Gary Peterson noemt het een voorbode voor een volledig seizoen in de IndyCar in 2013. "Ik ben heel trots op Sebastian. Zijn keuze om terug te keren in de Indy Lights was de juiste. Dat stelde hem in staat om de opkomende talenten te monsteren, samen te werken met de IndyCar-coureurs van Andretti Autosport, ervaring op te doen op ovals en stratencircuits, te testen met een IndyCar-auto en aan de Indy 500 deel te nemen. Nu krijgt hij op Sears Point een nieuwe kans in de IndyCar. Alles dat we doen staat in het teken van een mooi Andretti/AFS-programma voor 2013 met Sebastian."
