RLLR schrijft tweede auto in voor James Jakes

Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing brengt dit jaar twee auto's aan de start in de IndyCar. Naast Graham Rahal is ook James Jakes vastgelegd voor komend seizoen. Jakes, een 25-jarige Engelsman, reed de afgelopen twee jaar al 31 races in IndyCar.

Jakes: "Ik was op zoek naar een team waar ik resultaten kon neerzetten waarvan ik geloof dat ik die in me heb, en RLLR past wat dat betreft perfect bij me. Als je naar de geschiedenis van deze renstal en de producten die Bobby Rahel heeft afgeleverd, dan valt op dat zijn auto's altijd vooraan het veld meedoen. Toen ik naar Amerika ging heb ik al met Bobby onderhandeld, maar toen was een akkoord niet haalbaar. Gelukkig kunnen we nu alsnog met elkaar aan de slag. Het is een mooi duwtje in de rug van het team dat we met twee wagens aan de start verschijnen en om vooraan de grid te strijden."
