Franchitti met succes geopereerd aan gebroken enkel

Dario Franchitti verblijft nog een paar dagen in het ziekenhuis in Houston na een operatie om zijn gebroken enkel tijdelijk te stabiliseren. Daarna wordt de Schot naar Indianapolis vervoerd voor een volgende evaluatie. De drievoudig Indy 500-winnaar raakte gewond na een zware crash in Houston.

Naast een gebroken enkel liep hij ook fracturen in twee ruggenwervels en een hersenschudding op. Naar omstandigheden maakt Franchitti het goed. "Iedereen bedankt voor alle beterschapswensen, dat betekent heel veel voor mij. Ik wil ook even de toeschouwers die zondag geraakt zijn door brokstukken het beste wensen en ik hoop dat de schade meevalt."
