Conway aan de slag als testrijder bij Toyota

Toyota heeft Mike Conway benoemd tot test- en reservecoureur. De 30-jarige Brit zal de vaste rijders ondersteunen en bijdragen aan de ontwikkeling van de nieuwe LMP1-bolide. Hij was dit jaar op parttime basis actief in de IndyCar, waarin hij een van de races in Detroit op zijn naam schreef.

Conway: "Ik ben verguld om me bij Toyota Racing te voegen voor de positie van test- en reserverijder voor 2014, wat mooi te combineren is met een IndyCar-programma. Het is de ambitie van elke rijder om bij een fabrieksteam op hoog niveau betrokken te worden. Dat is wat Toyota mij biedt. Ik wil mijn manager Mark Blundell en iedereen bij Toyota bedanken. Ik kijk ernaar uit om een bijdrage te leveren en ik hoop dat dit het begin is van een lange en succesvolle samenwerking."
