Di Grassi vult plek van McNish in bij Audi

Lucas di Grassi is door Audi aangesteld als opvolger van Allan McNish. De Braziliaan zal komend seizoen in het World Endurance Championship en de 24 uur van Le Mans een trio vormen met Tom Kristensen en Loic Duval. Di Grassi was al op parttime basis actief voor Audi.

Audi-motorsportbaas Wolfgang Ulrich: "Voor 2014 hebben we weer een sterke line-up. Het is niet makkelijk om iemand als Allan McNish te vervangen, hij reed veertien jaar voor Audi. Maar Lucas di Grassi heeft tijdens zijn optredens voor Audi steeds solide en overtuigend gepresteerd."

Marcel Fassler, Andre Lotterer en Benoit Treluyer bemannen de andere Audi voor alle WEC-races in 2014. In Spa en Le Mans krijgen ze gezelschap van een derde Audi met Filipe Albuquerque, Marco Bonanomi en Oliver Jarvis achter het stuur. Marc Gene is reserverijder bij Audi dit jaar.
