Toyota ruikt titels na opnieuw een dubbelzege

Waar Mercedes in de Formule 1 de dienst uitmaakt, daar deelt Toyota momenteel de lakens uit in het World Endurance Championship. De Japanse autofabrikant behaalde in China voor de tweede opeenvolgende race een één-twee en de titels in het WEC zijn in zicht.

Anthony Davidson en Sebastien Buemi zegevierden in Sjanghai en zijn hard op weg om zich tot kampioen bij de coureurs te kronen. Ze hebben 42 punten voorsprong met nog twee races te gaan. De Toyota met startnummer 7 eindigde als tweede en de Porsche van Romain Dumas, Neel Jani en Marc Lieb completeerde het podium.

Bij de constructeurs heeft Toyota 29 punten meer dan Audi. Porsche is al uitgeschakeld voor de titel. Over twee weken vervolgt het seizoen zich met de 6 uur van Bahrein en eind deze maand staat de laatste race, de 6 uur van Sao Paulo, op het programma.
