LM24: Vijfde uur Porsche behoudt de voorsprong maar Audi vecht terug

De voorsprong van de nummer 17 Porsche op de nummer 9 Audi is als sneeuw voor de zon verdwenen. De nummer 9 Audi heeft het gat dicht gereden en dringt aan bij de Porsche. De nummer 09 Audi rijdt echter op een andere strategie en moet eerder naar binnen. Maar Felipe Albuquerque laat het er niet bij zitten, hij rijdt een nieuw ronderecord van 3:17.647 met een gemiddelde snelheid van 248,2 km/uur.

Ondertussen heeft de nummer 18 Porsche de escape road nodig om de Porsche van Patrick Dempsey te ontwijken. Geen meldingen vanuit de wedstrijdleiding over de vermeende jump start van Loïc Duval, vooralsnog is er dus niets aan de hand.

Het lijkt erop dat gaten die zijn ontstaan min of meer gelijk blijven, Audi leek dichterbij te komen maar de gaten worden ook weer groter. Na een tumultueuze eerste vier uur is er nu iets meer rust gekomen. De Toyota's zijn stelselmatig langzamer dan de Porsche's en de Audi's en worden nu ook op een ronde gezet. Daarmee lijkt hun kans op een Le Mans zegen in 2015 nagenoeg verkeken.
