Senna lijkt op weg naar LMP2 stoeltje

Voormalig Formule 1-coureur Bruno Senna lijkt in 2016 zijn seizoen in de Formule E te gaan combineren met het World Endurance Championship. De voormalig coureur van HRT, Lotus en Williams staat op het punt een contract te tekenen met een team dat uitkomt in de LMP2 klasse. Senna reed in 2013 en 2014 ook al in het WEC in een Aston Martin in de GTE Pro-klasse. Senna gaat zijn werkzaamheden in de WEC combineren met zijn seizoen in de Formule E, waar hij voor het team van Mahindra uitkomt.

Kansen liggen er voor Senna bij het nieuwe Morand team, dat met een Ligier uit wil gaan komen volgend jaar. Senna over zijn kansen: "We zijn er nog niet uit met het oog op volgend seizoen, maar het ziet er allemaal goed uit. Ik hoop binnenkort iets bekend te kunnen maken. De keuze voor het team is gemaakt, maar binnen het team moeten er ook nog wat zaken gebeuren. Ik ben optimistisch dat ik het stoeltje kan bemachtigen en dat we mee kunnen doen om het kampioenschap."

Senna is niet volledig onbekend met een LMP2-auto, in 2009 reed hij voor het Courage ORECA-AIM team in de Le Mans Series, om in 2010 tot en met 2012 in de Formule 1 uit te komen. Naast zijn activiteiten in de WEC en Formule E lijkt het erop dat Senna ook voor McLaren blijft uitkomen in de Blancpain Series: "Ik hoop bij McLaren te kunnen blijven, samen met de Formule E en het WEC lijkt het erg druk jaar te gaan worden voor mij."

  Klopt helemaal wat je zegt. Is tevens ook een aardige goede gast en daarnaast ook een uitstekende analist. Veel leuker om naar te luisteren dan bijvoorbeeld een Davidson of een McNish.
  Misschien niet de aller-grootste coureur die er is, maar heeft naar mijn idee altijd goed werk afgeleverd, zeker als je bekijkt wat voor een achternaam hij heeft. Kortom, leuk om Bruno Senna in al die diverse klasses actief te zien.

  Goeie gast om in je team te hebben. Hij trekt veel positieve publiciteit en heeft een breed netwerk. Heb hem dit jaar ontmoet bij de fe en ik moet zeggen dat hij oprecht is en heel aardig en veel tijd neemt voor de fans.
