RGR Sport by Morand betreedt LMP2

Een nieuw team heeft zich ingeschreven voor de LMP2-klasse in het World Endurance Championship. Ricardo Gonzalez slaat de handen ineen met Morand voor de Mexicaanse renstal RGR Sport by Morand, die een Ligier JSP2-Nissan met startnummer 43 aan de start zal brengen.

Gonzalez is niet alleen teameigenaar, maar ook een van de coureurs. De Mexicaan bundelt de krachten met twee gerenommeerde coureurs, namelijk Bruno Senna en Filipe Albuquerque. Gonzalez: "Ik ben enorm trots om dit project aan te kondigen. Nadat het WEC de 6 uur van Mexico City bekend had gemaakt was de oprichting van een Mexicaans team de volgende stap. Met de ervaring van Bruno en Filipe denk ik dat we voor de titel en winst in de 24 uur van Le Mans kunnen gaan."
