Manor maakt debuut in World Endurance Championship

Voormalig Formule 1-teambaas John Booth zet zijn loopbaan als teameigenaar voort in het World Endurance Championship. Nadat Booth en zijn rechterhand Graeme Lowdon dit najaar bekend maakten zich terug te trekken uit het management van het Manor Formule 1-team maakte Booth al bekend dat hij druk was met plannen voor de de toekomst. Manor zal deelnemen onder de naam Manor Endurance Racing Limited en uitkomen in de LMP2-klasse.

Manor heeft besloten om met een auto deel te nemen aan het kampioenschap. Het nieuwe seizoen begint op 17 april met de 6 uur van Silverstone. Het is nog niet bekend welk trio de auto zal gaan besturen, Manor maakte wel bekend dat Tor Graves in ieder geval een stoeltje krijgt.

John Booth is uiteraard in zijn nopjes met de volgende stap in zijn loopbaan: "Het is fantastisch dat we deel gaan nemen aan het WEC. Het is een prachtig kampioenschap met een mooie kalender en een competitief veld. Het niveau ligt erg hoog en ik zie er naar uit weer naar de circuits te gaan. Er is nog veel werk te doen, maar we hebben een goede groep mensen om ons heen en we zullen er staan dit seizoen."
