Piquet voor Rebellion Racing naar Le Mans

Nelson Piquet heeft een dienstverband met Rebellion Racing gesloten voor de eerste twee reguliere ronden in het World Endurance Championship en de 24 uur van Le Mans. De Braziliaan vormt voor de 6 uur van Silverstone, de 6 uur van Spa-Francorchamps en in Le Mans een trio met Nicolas Prost en Nick Heidfeld.

Regerend Formule E-kampioen Piquet: "Ik ben verguld om me bij Rebellion Racing te voegen voor enkele races in het WEC, waaronder de 24 uur van Le Mans. Die race is een van de meest speciale evenementen op de autosportkalender en sinds mijn deelname in 2006 stond het hoog op mijn verlanglijstje om nog eens te doen. Ik had me geen beter team dan Rebellion Racing en geen betere teamgenoten dan Nicolas en Nick kunnen voorstellen. Ik kan niet wachten om later deze maand op Paul Ricard in de auto te kruipen om me voor te bereiden."
