Porsche sluit eerste dag in Silverstone als snelste af

Porsche heeft de eerste dag van het eerste World Endurance Championship-weekend als snelste afgesloten. Dit weekend vindt de seizoensopener plaats op het circuit van Silverstone. Porsche was ook in de eerste training het snelst.

Namens Porsche reed Brendon Hartley de snelste tijd in de Hybrid 919. Hartley was meer dan een seconde sneller dan Romain Dumas in de andere Porsche. De tweede Porsche verloor gedurende de dag wat baantijd vanwege een spin van Marc Lieb in Luffield.

Lucas di Grassi reed de derde tijd en was daarmee het snelste van de Audi-coureurs. Kamui Kobayashi reed in zijn Toyota de snelste tijd. In de LMP2-klasse reed John Kane de snelste tijd in de Strakka Racing Gibson-Nissan. Kane was iets minder dan een tiende sneller dan James Jakes in de Manor ORECA-Nissan.
