Audi trekt beroep tegen diskwalificatie in

Audi gaat toch niet in hoger beroep tegen de uitsluiting van winnaars Benoit Treluyerer, Andre Lotterer en Marcel Fassler bij de 6 uur van Silverstone. Het trio won afgelopen zondag de opening van het World Endurance Championship-seizoen, maar werd na afloop gediskwalificeerd.

Een van de skid blocks bij de Audi met startnummer 7 was te ver afgesleten. Het Duitse merk gaf aan de intentie te hebben om in beroep te gaan, maar ziet daar nu van af. Audi-motorsportbaas Wolfgang Ulrich: "We hebben ons besluit genomen in het belang van de sport. We hopen dat de resterende acht rondes in het WEC net zo spannend zullen worden als de seizoensopener."

Daardoor belandt de zege in de 6 uur van Silverstone definitief bij Porsche-trio Neel Jani, Romain Dumas en Marc Lieb.

Ze hebben het onderzocht en zijn er zelf achter gekomen dat het terecht is, tevens hebben ze geen enkel manier kunnen vinden om tegen het besluit in te gaan. Diskwalificatie was dus gewoon terecht en dat zien ze zelf ook in. Cad... [Lees verder]
