Manor doet in Fuji beroep op Shinji Nakano

Oud Formule 1-coureur Shinji Nakano keert komend weekend terug in het World Endurance Championship. De 45-jarige Japanner verschijnt samen met Tor Graves en Alex Lynn namens Manor aan de start van de 6 uur van Fuji. Nakano reed eerder in 2012 en 2013 in het WEC.

"Ja, het is drie jaar geleden sinds mijn laatste race in het WEC en het is leuk om nu met dank aan Manor mijn rentree te maken. De LMP2 heeft een enorme ontwikkeling doorgemaakt in mijn afwezigheid. Manor is een goed team en met Alex en Tor beschik ik over twee snelle teamgenoten."

"We hebben niet getest samen, dus we zullen even tijd nodig hebben om aan elkaar te wennen en in een goed ritme te komen. We hebben echter allemaal genoeg ervaring om binnen de kortste keren op snelheid te zijn", aldus Nakano."
