Tandy en Bamber in beeld als opvolger Mark Webber bij Porsche

Eerder deze week maakte oud Formule 1-coureur Mark Webber bekend de helm definitief aan de wilgen te hangen aan het einde van het seizoen. Na zijn loopbaan in de Formule 1 kwam Webber uit in het World Endurance Championship. De 40-jarige Australiër blijft wel als ambassadeur verbonden aan Porsche en combineert die werkzaamheden met zijn rol als Formule 1-analist bij de Engelse tv-zender Channel 4.

Porsche heeft nog geen opvolger aangewezen voor Webber, maar lijkt te gaan kiezen uit Earl Bamber of Nick Tandy. Bamber en Tandy rijden al namens Porsche in de Le Mans-series is Noord-Amerika en wonnen de afgelopen editie van Le Mans in de GTE Pro-klasse. Porsche laat weten waarschijnlijk in december of januari de knoop door te hakken.
