Petrov vindt onderdak bij Manor in WEC

Oud Formule 1-coureur Vitaly Petrov heeft zich verzekerd van een stoeltje in het World Endurance Championship voor het seizoen 2017. De Rus komt dit jaar voor Manor uit in de LMP2-klasse. Eerder wist CEFC Manor TRS Racing al onder meer Jean-Eric Vergne en Simon Trummer vast te leggen.

Petrov reed vorig jaar al in het WEC voor SMP Racing. Hij verdedigde tussen 2010 en 2012 de eer van Renault en Caterham in de Formule 1. Hij verscheen 57 maal aan de start van een Grand Prix en daarin scoorde hij 64 punten. De Rus was ook nog een jaar in de DTM actief.
