Karun Chandok keert terug in 24 uur van Le Mans

Voormalig Formule 1-coureur en Channel 4-reporter Karun Chandok keert na een jaar afwezigheid terug in de 24 uur van Le Mans. De coureur uit Madras reed in de periode van 2012 tot en met 2015 voor JRM en het team van Murphy, voor dit jaar heeft Chandok de handen ineen geslagen met Tockwith Motorsport.

Chandok reed in de 2010 en 2011 elf Formule 1-races voor HRT en Lotus en maakte in 2012 zijn debuut in de 24 uur van Le Mans. Chandok rijdt in dit jaar met een LMP2-bolide van Ligier. De Indiër deelt de auto met Nigel Moore en Phil Hanson. Hanson en Moore komen dit jaar namens Tockwith Motorsport uit in de Europese Le Mans Series. Om zich zo goed mogelijk voor te bereiden op de 24-uurs race doet Chandok volgende maand mee in de WEC-race op het circuit van Spa-Francorchamps.
