Ford komt in 2024 met Mustang GT3 naar Le Mans

Het World Endurance Championship neemt na dit jaar afscheid van de huidige GT-regels en auto's. Vanaf 2024 zal er met GT3's worden gereden in het WEC, deze klasse krijgt de naam LMGT3. Teams mogen hier gebruik maken van bestaande GT3-wagens en nieuwe GT3-modellen. Ford heeft een beestachtige GT3-versie van de Mustang aangekondigd voor deze klasse.

Aan de vooravond van 24 uur van Le Mans onthulde het merk de nieuwe Ford Mustang GT3. Deze wagen is gebaseerd op de Mustang Dark Horse en zal te zien zijn in meerdere klassen. Ook in het WEC zal dit het geval zijn en Proton Competition heeft als eerste een samenwerking met Ford aangekondigd. Dat betekent dus dat de Mustang in 2024 in actie zal komen in het WEC én de 24 uur van Le Mans.
