Lamborghini toont spectaculaire Hypercar aan de wereld

De 24 uur van Le Mans belooft volgend jaar nog spectaculairder te worden dan dit jaar. Aankomend jaar neemt immers ook Lamborghini deel met een Hypercar. Vandaag heeft de Italiaanse autobouwer hun spectaculaire Hypercar aan de buitenwereld getoond tijdens de start van het Goodwood Festival of Speed.

Lamborghini maakte geruime tijd geleden al bekend dat ze gaan deelnemen aan het WEC en het IMSA met een Hypercar volgens de LMDh-regels. Vandaag hebben ze het doek getrokken van hun uitdager: de Lamborghini SC63. Het is de bedoeling dat ze in samenwerking met het team van Iron Lynx gaan deelnemen aan zowel het WEC als het IMSA. Romain Grosjean, Daniil Kvyat, Andrea Caldarelli en Mirko Bortolotti zijn al bevestigd als coureurs.

Het heeft er alle schijn van dat ook Jordan Pepper voor het team gaat rijden. Ook de naam van Franck Perera wordt genoemd als mogelijke coureur. Lamborghini zal volgend jaar met één auto in het WEC en met één auto in het IMSA-kampioenschap gaan rijden. Op Le Mans zullen ze het opnemen tegen Hypercars van onder meer Ferrari, Toyota, Cadillac, Alpine, BMW, Peugeot en Porsche.

Ik vind die LMH's er allemaal wat mooier uit zien, met name de Ferrari en ook de Peugeot met dat aparte spoilerloze ontwerp. De LMDh's zijn meer eenheidsworst wat logisch is met de 4 exclusieve chassisleveranciers als standaard. Hoewel het geluid van de Cadillac mij zeer kan bekoren met de V8

  Toegeven, de Lambo oogt knap en snel. Maar of het ook zo is zullen we zien.
  Het WEC begin er toch wel heel aardig uit te zien en het is zo'n knappe competitie om te volgen!
