Lamborghini-hypercar doorstaat eerste grote test

De Hypercar-klasse in het World Endurance Championship zorgt dit jaar voor veel spanning. Veel fabrikanten nemen sinds dit jaar deel aan de klasse en het deelnemersveld zal in de aankomende jaren alleen maar gaan groeien. Lamborghini gaat vanaf 2024 immers ook deelnemen aan het WEC en heeft de eerste succesvolle test achter de rug.

Lamborghini presenteerde eerder dit jaar de Hypercar waarmee ze volgend jaar de strijd aangaan met onder meer Toyota, Ferrari, Porsche, BMW en Cadillac. Enkele maanden geleden trok de Italiaanse autobouwer het doek van de SC63 en nu heeft de wagen de eerste grote test doorstaan. Lamborghini en teampartner Iron Lynx hebben een tweedaagse test voltooid op het circuit van Imola.

In een persbericht laat Lamborghini weten dat de SC63 de test met succes heeft doorstaan. Fabriekscoureurs Daniil Kvyat, Mirko Bortolotti en Andrea Caldarelli kwamen in actie tijdens de test. Later deze maand zal Lamborghini ook gaan testen op de circuits van Paul Ricard in Frankijk en op het iconische Belgische circuit van Spa-Francorchamps. Het is de bedoeling dat de wagens volgend jaar te bewonderen zijn in het WEC en in het Amerikaanse IMSA-kampioenschap.
