Vijf Nederlanders op deelnemerslijst Le Mans

Autosportfederatie FIA heeft de deelnemerslijst van de 24 van Le Mans bekend gemaakt. De iconische race kent dit jaar een overvolle deelnemerslijst met veel grote namen en zeer veel Hypercars. Voor Le Mans keert de LMP2-klasse weer terug, deze ontbreekt dit jaar in het World Endurance Championship.

De 24 uur van Le Mans is ook dit jaar weer onderdeel van de WEC-kalender. Dit jaar telt het WEC maar twee klassen, de LMP2-klasse hoort daar niet meer bij. Op Le Mans is dit wel het geval, er staan 16 LMP2's op de startlijst die vandaag is vrijgegeven door de FIA. Er zijn nog veel stoeltjes beschikbaar en tot nu toe staat er één Nederlander op de deelnemerslijst in deze klasse. Het gaat om Job van Uitert, hij gaat rijden voor IDEC Sport en hij deelt de wagen met Paul Lafargue en Reshad de Gerus.

In de Hypercar-klasse staat een recordaantal van 23 auto's op de deelnemerslijst. Er staan negen verschillende fabrikanten aan de start en Cadillac, Lamborghini en Porsche schrijven extra auto's in. Er staan drie Nederlanders op de deelnemerslijst in de Hypercar-klasse. Nyck de Vries bestuurt de Toyota met startnummer zeven, Renger van der Zande bestuurt de Cadillac met startnummer drie en Robin Frijns stapt in de BMW met nummer twintig. In de LMGT3-klasse staat er met Morris Schuring één Nederlander op de deelnemerslijst.

Dat zijn er niet veel dit jaar. Jammer dat Racing Team Nederland er niet meer is. Is er eigenlijk nog nieuws over Frits?
