Drie rijders ontvangen straf na eerste race

Drie coureurs uit de Renault World Series hebben een straf gekregen na afloop van de eerste race in Silverstone. Guillaume Moreau krijgt 25 seconden tijdstraf wegens het veroorzaken van de aanrijding met Robert Wickens. Moreau valt terug van de zesde naar de dertiende plek en verliest daarmee zijn vijf punten.

Fairuz Fauzy en Miguel Molina worden allebei vier plaatsen teruggezet op de startopstelling van race 2. Fauzy werd aangewezen als de schuldige partij bij een aanrijding met Marco Barba, terwijl Fauzy daarna zelf van de baan wordt gereden door Molina in het stadiongedeelte.

Guillaume Moreau is uiteraard niet erg te spreken over de actie van de stewards. "Na Spa-Francorchamps is dit al de tweede keer dat ik gestraft wordt. De actie met Wickens was mijn fout, maar het was een heel zacht tikje. Als je de voorkant van mijn auto bekijkt is er niet eens kras te zien. Ik kan de straf accepteren, maar ze worden niet consequent uitgedeeld. Volgens mij maakte Charles Pic een valse start en Julien Jousse rijdt in de achterkant bij Aleshin maar zij krijgen geen straf. Het is frustrerend, maar ik ga gewoon mijn best doen er nog wat van te maken."
