Giedo van der Garde pakt pole position op de Nurburgring

Giedo van der Garde heeft vanmiddag goede zaken gedaan op de Nurburgring. Tijdens de Super Pole was hij met een 1:44.841 te sterk voor iedereen. Daarmee is de voosprong van de Nederlander in het kampioenschap gegroeid tot maar liefst 55 punten en gaat Van der Garde jagen op zijn vijfde overwinning in de klasse. Het is overigens pas de tweede pole position van Van der Garde in de World Series. De eerste kwam tijdens de seizoensopener in Monza.

De eer van "best of the rest" gaat deze keer naar Salvador Duran. "Ik was tot nu toe niet erg gelukkig, want ik had gisteren een versnellingsbakprobleem. Vandaag was de auto een stuk beter en hebben we de auto maar een klein beetje veranderd voor de Super Pole. Dat hielp wel, want het scheelde niet veel."

Van der Garde's grootste concurrent voor de titel, Julien Jousse, start slechts als zesde. Hij wordt gevolgd door de Braziliaan Fabio Carbone, die als zevende start.
