Van der Garde mikt op winst in Le Mans

Giedo van der Garde kan komend weekend op het circuit van Le Mans kampioen in de World Series by Renault worden. Zelf houdt de Nederlander zich daar niet mee bezig. De coureur van P1 Motorsport wil gewoon graag weer eens een race winnen, wat alweer een paar wedstrijden geleden is.

Van der Garde: Wat er op de Nürburgring gebeurde is jammer, maar daar kunnen we nu niks meer aan doen. Als je gewoon helder naar dat weekend kijkt, zie je dat we eigenlijk een heel goed weekend hebben gehad. Ik heb geen fouten gemaakt, we waren zeer snel en dan is het jammer dat een pitstop niet goed gaat. In Le Mans ga ik gewoon weer voor de overwinning. Het is een leuk circuit, waar ik goede herinneringen aan heb. In mijn Formule 3-tijd stond ik er al eens op pole position. Het circuit zou ons goed moeten liggen en ik wil er erg graag winnen.

Ik weet dat ik dit weekend kampioen kan worden, maar daar houd ik me niet echt mee bezig, vervolgt hij. Julien Jousse staat tweede en hij zal ook echt geen domme dingen doen. We moeten gewoon keihard werken en zoveel mogelijk punten halen. Dan komt het hopelijk vanzelf wel goed.
