Norman Nato boekt eerste zege in Monaco

Norman Nato heeft zijn eerste overwinning in de World Series by Renault binnen. De 21-jarige Fransman bleek de sterkste in de straten van Monaco. Marco Sorensen en Jazeman Jaafar vergezelden Nato naar het podium. Carlos Sainz junior, leider in de tussenstand, finishte als vierde.

Nato vertrok van pole position en hield met gemak stand, terwijl Sorensen zich bij de start voorbij Jaafar wurmde. Aan die volgorde veranderde de rest van de race niets. In het kampioenschap heeft Sainz junior nu 74 punten, vijftien meer dan Oliver Rowland die tweede staat.

Meindert van Buuren reed dit weekend voor het eerst in Monaco en deed dat knap. Hij eindigde als tiende en scoorde zodoende een puntje. Beitske Visser legde beslag op P17 nadat ze van de negentiende plek was gestart.
