Merhi op pole voor seizoensafsluiter, Visser tiende

Roberto Merhi heeft de pole position veroverd voor de seizoensafsluiter van het Renault 3.5-kampioenschap. De Spanjaard was Oliver Rowland en Pierre Gasly te snel af. Beitske Visser borduurde voort op haar goede resultaat van gisteren en start als tiende.

Carlos Sainz jr. komt er niet aan te pas op Jerez. Het kampioenschap mag dan binnen zijn voor de Spanjaard, maar tijdens de eerste race was hij nergens te bekennen. Ook de tweede race lijkt weinig succesvol te worden, Sainz start slechts als veertiende.

De strijd om de tweede plaats in het kampioenschap is nog wel volledig open. Roberto Merhi staat op dit moment tweede met 183 punten, gevolgd door Pierre Gasly met 180 punten. Beide heren starten aan de kop van het veld, dus dit kan nog een mooi gevecht opleveren.

Om 13.45 uur Nederlandse tijd start de laatste race van het seizoen.
