Rowland verstevigt zijn koppositie

Oliver Rowland heeft de tweede race van het World Series by Renault-weekend op Silverstone op zijn naam geschreven. De Brit troefde voor eigen publiek concurrent Matthieu Vaxiviere af. Pietro Fantin completeerde het podium met diens eerste top drie-finish in 2015.

Door zijn zege heeft Rowland weer iets meer afstand genomen in het kampioenschap. Hij staat nu op 209 punten. Vaxiviere vormt als enige nog een bedreiging voor de titel. De Fransman heeft 173 punten. De rest heeft minder dan honderd punten.

Voor Nyck de Vries is de derde plaats het hoogst haalbare. De Nederlander scoorde geen punten in de tweede race, hij viel al na zes rondjes uit. Hij bezet de vijfde plek in de tussenstand en heeft vijftien punten achterstand op teamgenoot Dean Stoneman, die derde staat.
