Jazeman Jaafar met Carlin in Formule Renault 3.5

Jazeman Jaafar maakt dit jaar de overstap naar het paradepaardje van de World Series by Renault, de Formule Renault 3.5. De 20-jarige Maleisiër doet dat bij het team van Carlin, de renstal voor wie hij in 2012 vice-kampioen in de Britse Formule 3 werd. Zijn teamgenoot voor komend seizoen is nog onbekend.

Jaafar: "Ik ben heel opgewonden over mijn nieuwe uitdaging in de Formule Renault 3.5 met Carlin, een team dat ik uiteraard goed ken. Daardoor is de omschakeling wat makkelijker, ik voel me al op gemak in mijn nieuwe auto. Qua kracht en downforce is het een grote sprong ten opzichte van de Formule 3, maar het is een geweldig pakket en een heerlijke wagen om te besturen. Ik zal veel leren dit jaar, maar ik heb vertrouwen dat we de potentie bezitten om er iets moois van te maken."
