Zeta Corse start seizoen met Marinescu en Piget

Het team van Zeta Corse heeft de line-up voor de seizoensopener op Monza van komend weekend bekend gemaakt. De Italiaanse renstal legde Mihai Marinescu vast voor het complete seizoen. Emmanuel Piget zal hem in elk geval in de eerste races vergezellen.

Marinescu is een 24-jarige Roemeen en reed in 2009 al elf wedstrijden in de World Series by Renault. Daarin scoorde hij geen punten. De afgelopen twee jaar was hij actief in de Formule 2. Piget, een 29-jarige Fransman, zit al een paar jaar zonder werkgever.

Zeta Corse-teammanager Claudio Corradini: "Ons programma is een beetje laat op gang gekomen en het gevolg is dat de meeste coureurs al bezet waren. We laten ons daar niet door uit het veld slaan. Een vaste tweede rijder vinden is moeizaam. Piget is misschien niet beroemd, maar ik ken hem goed en ben overtuigd van zijn voorbereiding en professionalisme. Voor de resterende ronden van het kampioenschap moeten we nog kijken wat we doen."
