Muller, Sorensen en Jaafar op het podium in Monaco

De World Series by Renault-race in Monaco is gewonnen door Nico Muller. De Zwitser voerde een ongebruikelijk podium aan met verder Marco Sorensen en Jazeman Jaafar. Geen van dat drietal finishte dit seizoen eerder in de top drie.

De kampioenskandidaten kwamen minder in het stuk voor. Kevin Magnussen breidde zijn voorsprong in het kampioenschap uit dankzij een vierde plaats. De Deen passeerde Carlos Sainz junior op de baan en hield vervolgens stand tegenover Antonio Felix da Costa.

Stoffel Vandoorne verloor terrein, voornamelijk omdat hij een grid penalty had gekregen voor een crash in de vrije training. Hij eindigde uiteindelijk als negende. Dat is nog ver voor Nigel Melker, die legde beslag op de zeventiende plek.
