Race in Turkije afgelast

De World Series by Renault-race op het circuit van Istanbul is afgelast. De race in Turkije zou de vierde ronde van het kampioenschap worden, maar is zonder reden van de kalender geschrapt. Officials van de serie hebben slechts bekend gemaakt dat de race niet doorgaat en dat er nu wordt gezocht naar een vervangend circuit.

Vorig jaar ging de World Series by Renault voor het eerst naar het circuit waar ook de Formule 1-race, die op 26 augustus wel gewoon doorgaat, wordt verreden. Toen waren de overwinningen voor Andy Soucek en Alvaro Parente. Dit jaar staan er twee Nederlanders aan de start van het nieuwe seizoen, namelijk Giedo van der Garde en Jaap van Lagen. Volgende week, 15 april, begint het seizoen op het circuit van Monza.
