Nani Roma verruilt Mini voor Toyota

Nani Roma verschijnt in januari weer aan de start voor Dakar 2017. Dit keer niet zoals de afgelopen jaren in een Mini, maar in een Toyota. De Spanjaard maakt de overstap naar het team van Overdrive Racing en krijgt de beschikking over een Toyota Hilux V8.

Roma won de Dakar in 2004 op een motor en in 2014 voegde hij daar een zege bij de auto's aan toe. Over zijn nieuwe avontuur bij Toyota zegt hij: "Het is een plezier om de Hilux te mogen besturen. Dit is een nieuwe uitdaging in mijn carrière en een mogelijkheid om me bij een opwindend project verder te ontwikkelen. Ik ben zo blij als een kind en sta te popelen om te beginnen met het finetunen van de auto voor de Baja Spanje Aragon van over een paar weken."
