Van den Heuvel 'op zeker' na vocht in stekker

Maurik van den Heuvel en zijn kompanen van Dakarspeed hebben afgezien in de twaalfde etappe van Dakar 2018. Het drietal reed bijna de hele dag op de achtste plaats bij de vrachtwagens. Het ging goed, maar het was ook ontzettend zwaar.

Van den Heuvel "Phoe, phoe.. Wat een proef was dat! Ik ben echt kapot! Het ging allemaal super goed, alleen na 10 kilometer, door diepe rivieren, kregen we wéér vocht in de stekker. We hebben twaalf minuten verloren om deze stekker weer droog te maken. Er had meer in gezeten, maar verder heb ik toch wat 'op zeker' gereden om zaterdag wel aan de finish te komen!"

Maurik van den Heuvel staat met Dakarspeed op een tiende plek in het algemeen klassement voor trucks. Dakar 2018 telt nog twee etappes en eindigt zaterdag in Cordoba.
