Bekendmaking Ralf Schumacher zorgt voor toename kaartverkoop

Er is veel belangstelling voor het debuutseizoen van Ralf Schumacher in de DTM. Dat meldt de baas van de toerwagenklasse, Hans Werner. De kaartverkoop is toegenomen, net als de mediabelangstelling. Werner: Het is geweldig dat Ralf in de DTM gaat rijden, dit is een enorme opkikker voor ons. De pers en het publiek tonen nu al meer interesse.

Schumacher staat dit jaar onder contract bij Mercedes. De Duitser kijkt uit naar zijn debuut op 13 april. Deze klasse levert niet het geld en de populariteit van de Formule 1, maar dat wil ik ook helemaal niet. Ik wil alleen maar sport, plezier en spanning. En ik begin vanaf nul. Het werkt niet zo dat ik omdat ik in de Formule 1 gereden heb wel even kan zeggen dat ik meteen races ga winnen. We moeten realistisch blijven. Ik ga keihard werken en ik wil me langzaam maar zeker naar voren toewerken.

Werner heeft in ieder geval alle vertrouwen in zijn nieuwste superster. Iemand die zoveel jaren in de Formule 1 heeft gereden en na zijn broer Michael de meest succesvolle Duitse Formule 1-coureur is, moet wel goed kunnen autorijden.
