Vermeulen scoort op Nürburgring eerste top-tien-klassering

Vanaf P13 startte Thierry Vermeulen in de DTM en kwam als tiende over de streep in de eerste race op de Nürburgring. De zoon van Max Verstappens manager, Raymond Vermeulen, scoorde daarmee zijn eerste top-tien-klassering van 2023. Vermeulen rijdt in zijn debuutseizoen met de Ferrari 296 GT van Emil Frey Racing.

Het is de tweede keer dat de jonge Nederlander punten scoort in de DTM. Eerder was dat bij de openingsrace in Oscherslleben. In totaal heeft de coureur, die ondersteunt wordt door Verstappen.com, zeven punten.

Mirko Bortolotti pakte vanaf pole zijn eerste zege. De Italiaan bleef Lucas Auer en Thomas Preining voor in een wedstrijd met uitdagende wisselende omstandigheden.

Zondag om 13:15 uur staat de tweede wedstrijd op de planning.
