Mercedes bevestigt line-up voor 2008

De Duitse autofabrikant Mercedes heeft de DTM line-up voor 2008 gepresenteerd. Mercedes verschijnt dit jaar met negen autos aan de start, waarvan de vier 2008-specs gereserveerd zijn voor Bernd Schneider, Bruno Spengler, Jamie Green en Paul di Resta. Ralf Schumacher, Maro Engel, Gary Paffett, Mathias Lauda en Susie Stoddart rijden in een auto van vorig jaar.

Norbert Haug, motorsportbaas bij Mercedes, denkt dat alle negen coureurs kans maken om een race te winnen. Vijf van onze rijders wonnen vorig jaar een race. Dat laat zien dat we iedereen de kans geven om competitief te zijn en punten te pakken. We hebben een goed team voor 2008 en ik weet zeker dat de sport zich dit jaar weer naar een hoger niveau zal tillen.

Di Resta is nieuw bij het fabrieksteam van Mercedes en heeft veel zin in het nieuwe seizoen. Vier podiumplekken en zeven puntenfinishes in mijn debuutseizoen is geen slechte balans. Ik ben erg blij met mijn plek bij het HWA-team en ik wil Mercedes terugbetalen voor het vertrouwen dat zij in mij hebben.
