Nürburgring ook komende drie jaar verzekerd van race

De Nürburgring staat minstens tot en met 2011 op de DTM-kalender. Het Duitse circuit heeft een nieuw driejarig contract met de organisatie van de toerwagenklasse gesloten. De Nürburgring is al jaren een vaste waarde op de DTM-kalender en bood gisteren een spektakelrace. In de stromende regen won Bernd Schneider.

Het verraderlijke weer in de Eifel kan zich dus ook de komende drie seizoenen uitleven op een DTM-race. Werner Aufrecht, voorzitter van de rechtenhouder van de DTM, ITR: De Nürburgring hoort bij professionele autosport en zeker bij de DTM. Daarom is deze contractverlenging een belangrijke stap voor onze serie. Circuitdirecteur Walter Kafitz: Het DTM-weekend vormt elk jaar een hoogtepunt en is bovendien van grote economische waarde voor deze regio.

Sinds het begin van de DTM in 1984 heeft de Nürburgring elk jaar op de kalender gestaan. Het circuit heeft op de Hockenheimring na de meeste races georganiseerd. Volgend seizoen zal de Nürburgring net als dit jaar de zevende plek op de kalender innemen.
