Mercedes contracteert Vitaly Petrov voor DTM

Vitaly Petrov staat komend seizoen op de grid in de DTM. Mercedes heeft de Rus vastgelegd voor de toerwagenserie. Petrov heeft een verleden als Formule 1-coureur. Hij kwam in de koningsklasse van de autosport uit voor Lotus en Caterham.

Petrov: "Ik ben me bewust dat ik een steile leercurve in het vooruitzicht heb, maar ik hou van uitdagingen en accepteer deze ook. Bij een test in Portimao heb ik kennis gemaakt met de auto en het team. Dat gevoel is belangrijk voor mij om goed uit de verf te kunnen komen."
