Miguel Molina neemt plek van Kristensen bij Audi over

Miguel Molina rijdt komend jaar voor Audi in de DTM. De 21-jarige Spanjaard is de opvolger van Tom Kristensen, die zich volledig op het sportwagenprogramma en de 24 uur van Le Mans richt. Molina was de afgelopen jaren vooral actief in de Formule Renault en debuteert in 2010 in de toerwagens.

Audi-motorsportbaas Wolfgang Ullrich: Miguel is niet alleen een charmante jongeman, hij is ook zeer snel. Twee jaar geleden ging hij tijdens een test al hard met de Audi A4, maar met zijn 18 jaar vonden we hem toen te jong om in de DTM te laten debuteren. In recente testsessies bevestigde hij de goed eindruk die hij eerder achter liet.

Molina: Voor mij is dit een droom die uitkomt. Voor Audi in de DTM racen is gewoonweg fantastisch. Audi is een fascinerend merk met geweldige autos en de DTM is een van de zwaarste klasses ter wereld. Ik ga alles geven om aan de verwachtingen te voldoen.
